Lt. Bill Bucks with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Haley went to his mother’s residence to talk with someone else, but he and Hubbard got into an argument which somehow escalated into Hubbard shooting Haley in the upper body with a 12-guage shotgun.
The incident occurred in the 15000 block of Palmetto Drive in the Magnolia Bend subdivision off of FM 1314, north of SH 242.
Haley was alive when emergency responders arrived and a Lifeflight medical helicopter was launched, and then disregarded as his condition deteriorated. An MCHD ground ambulance transported Haley to Conroe Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Hubbard did not try to flee, but according to monitored police and EMS radio traffic, he put the shotgun in the house and waited for law enforcement to arrive.
MCSO detectives are investigating.
