MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On March 11, 2024 around 11:30 p.m., two Conroe Police Officers responded to a disturbance reported in the 14700 block of Callard Ct., in the Chapel Run Subdivision. They received no response at the front door but could hear a woman screaming, so they entered the home. Officers say they found a man assaulting a woman and holding a gun. The armed man reportedly had the woman in a headlock. Officers tried to deescalate the situation as the woman broke free, but they say the man pointed the weapon at them, forcing both officers to discharge their weapons to stop his aggression.
The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else was injured in the shooting. The incident is being investigated by Conroe Police Detectives and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
This investigation is active, and no further information is available at this time. The name of the deceased man withheld, pending notification of next of kin. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the male to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
