Ruthie Cook-Scheer, 56, of 1208 N. San Jacinto has been taken into custody this evening after an accident killed her husband, Frank Joseph Scheer, 66 of the same address.
The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. when Ms. Scheer who was intoxicated walked out of Frank Sheer’s home and got into their vehicle to leave. Her husband, Frank then came out to the vehicle and a discussion over a credit card took place. Sometime while this transpired his wife backed over him pinning him under the vehicle. Conroe police who first arrived on the scene had to jack the vehicle up to remove Frank Scheer. Moments later Conroe Fire and MCHD arrived on the scene. Mr Scheer was unable to be revived.
Judge Spikes ordered Scheer’s body to be transported to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
Two members of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
After interviewing Ms. Scheer it was determined that she be taken into custody and charged with manslaughter.
