Wednesday, February 19, 2025, a joint effort by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, and the Houston Police Department led to the arrest of Victor Alcides Hernandez in south Houston. Hernandez, 32, is charged with the murder of Saul Espinoza, whose remains were discovered in August of 2023 in the 100 Block of Pinedale Road, Walker County.
Hernandez is currently being held in the Walker County Jail on a $500,000 bond for the murder charge, in addition to facing charges from other counties. Law enforcement agencies collaborated tirelessly over months to build the case and secure an arrest warrant.
Sheriff McRae expressed his appreciation to all the law enforcement officers involved in the case, stating, “I would like to extend my gratitude to our detectives, and all the law enforcement partners for their tireless work in this investigation. This arrest is a result of their commitment to seeking justice for Mr. Espinoza and his family, and brought us one step closer to holding the responsible individual accountable”.
