At 3:48 Saturday afternoon Willis Police officers Ferrel and Culak were dispatched to the Wells Fargo Bank at 501 FM 1097 in Willis for a bomb threat. Bank personnel reported the person making the threat was an elderly woman who was in the bank.
When the arrived an elderly female was sitting outside on one of the planters. Fitting the description she was detained. The officers were told the woman came in extremely irate because her ATM card would not work. She then threatened to blow the bank up with them in it and all the other Wells Fargo Banks.
Willis Police contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and United States Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms investigators. A bomb detection dog was deployed but detected no explosives were found in the bank, the suspects Ford truck or on her person.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office accepted a Terroristic Threat charge on Kathe Nacey, age 62 of Willis and she was transported to the Montgomery County Jail. She is being held on a $23,000 bond.
