On December 15 approximately 1:30p.m. deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Food Fair Grocery Store on FM 1485 at US 59 in New Caney for a sexual assault.
Deputies learned that a female victim had gone into the bathroom inside the store and could hear somebody in a nearby stall. The suspect Shane Thomas Lacaze, age 30 of Splendora forcibly opened the door to the stall the victim was in and pushed her back grabbing at her.
The victim fought the suspect while yelling and screaming for help. The suspect tried to escape and was chased by the victim out of the stall. Several store employees came to the victim’s aid holding the suspect until the Sheriff’s Office arrived.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Sexual Assault.
