Last Sunday at 11:55 p.m., the Cleveland Police Department was notified of an accident that occurred on US 59 North near Highway 105. Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles and one pedestrian involved in the accident.
Based on witness statements, a white, Chevrolet truck was traveling north on US 59 when the vehicle crashed into a center barrier. The driver, Thomas Celania of Cypress, Texas, exited his vehicle and walked into lanes of traffic traveling north when he was struck by a Mac Semi-Truck.
Celania was transported to Cleveland Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by Ralph Fuller, Justice of the Peace. Fuller has ordered an autopsy.
The Cleveland Police Department is conducting an investigation on the events surrounding the accident.
