Just after 9 pm, DPS was notified of an auto-pedestrian crash at FM 1314 and Old Sorters Road. According to DPS, the pedestrian crossed FM 1314 from an auto parts store to a gas station on the north side of the road. He failed to use the crosswalk on the poorly lit area of the road which was 120 feet away. A driver and his father who were in a Lexus SUV were eastbound when the male pedestrian ran out in front of them. They had a green light at the intersection and were traveling close to the posted speed limit the older Hispanic male who had no identification was a pronounced deceased on the scene. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The intersection remained closed until just before 11 pm. There are no charges being filed against the driver.
