Linda Kay Sims, age 62 of New Caney has been identified as the victim of Friday nights auto pedestrian accident. At 5:45p.m. , 55 year –old Melodie Breaz of New Caney was eastbound on FM 1485 just past Willaby when a adult female walked across the road in front of her. Breaz did not see her and struck the woman.
New Caney Fire Department was dispatched and was first on the scene reporting that Sims was dead on the scene.
DPS Troopers investigating the crash said it appeared the woman dressed in dark clothes walked from the north side of the roadway to Casey Ridge Grocery when she was struck. Witnesses said Breaz, who was driving a 2005 Ford Focus was not traveling above the speed limit.
No charges are being filed at this time as the investigation continues.
