AUTO vs. 4-WHEELER ON FM1314

At 11:15 this morning MCHD and Porter Fire Department were dispatched to a major accident at FM 1314 and Old Houston Road. When they arrived on the scene it was determined the crash was actually at Woodridge/Clark and FM 1314 just north of Old Houston.

Troopers investigating the scene say a 20-year-old male was crossing FM 1314 from Woodridge to Clark when he was struck by a southbound Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Harriett Pearson, 77, of Conroe. The driver of the four-wheeler was knocked off the four-wheeler striking the windshield of the truck before being ejected to the pavement. The four-wheeler sustained moderate damage and coasted under its own power across three lanes of traffic, through a ditch before coming to rest on the utility easement.

The truck sustained heavy damage to the front end and the windshield. Pearson was uninjured but was checked out by medics on the scene.

The 22-year-old male who has not been identified. as of yet pending notification of family was taken to Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands with a broken leg and severe head trauma where he remains in critical condition.

Due to weather conditions, a medical helicopter was unavailable at the time for transport.

The area is almost 100 feet from the location where Dustin Kellogg was killed on October 4, of this year when his truck struck an 18-wheeler. It is also just around the corner from where Shane Dastous of Dayton was killed when his motorcycle left the roadway on Old Houston Road just south of FM 1314.
