PRESS RELEASE
On March 11 at approximately 1:40 P.M, Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at 4775 West Panther Creek in The Woodlands at the Chase Bank. Deputies were advised that a white male in his late 20’s entered the bank wearing sunglasses and a hat with dreadlocks. The male demanded money from the clerk and placed a device on the counter and told the employees it was a bomb. The male then took an undisclosed amount of money and exited the bank, fleeing towards a nearby apartment complex.
MCSO Deputies arrived on location and secured the scene. Houston Police Department Bomb Squad was called in for assistance. MCSO Communications broadcasted a BOLO with the description of the actor and deputies searched the surrounding area.
HPD Bomb Squad was able to determine the device placed on the counter was a non explosive device. Once the device was cleared, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit processed the scene. No one was harmed during the commission of the robbery.
This investigation is still ongoing by Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
