BIG THICKET DRUG ARREST

During the darken hours of Wednesday, October 28th. Investigators with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a narcotics investigation of the residence located at 131 CR 2764, Rye, Texas in the “Big Thicket” area of north Liberty County. According to investigators, a narcotics search warrant issued and signed by the Honorable Judge Mark Morefield, 75th, District Court was executed and resulted in the arrest of the home owner, Melissa Christine Lork, DOB 8-13-65 and the temporary detention of Lork’s boyfriend, Richard McDonald, DOB 3-4-64.

During the search of the residence, Deputies recovered approximately 6 grams of Methamphetamine, 149 Xanax ( Alprazolam) pills, 57 Hydrocodone pills, 1 Ecstasy pill and approximately $600. in U.S. currency which Deputies believe to be proceeds from the sales of narcotics.

Melissa Lork was charged with three (3) counts of Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. One was a first degree felony and two were second degree felonies. She was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance that was a State Jail Felony. Deputies said that Lork has a rather lengthy criminal history for drug arrest one of which resulted in a 41 month sentence in Federal prison for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Melissa Lork was charged and placed in the Liberty County jail while Richard McDonald was released at the scene without charges.
