A shooting with an unusual twist occurred late Monday afternoon on Holly Springs Drive in River Plantation.
The victim was shot once in the leg and was transported by ground ambulance in stable condition.
Pct. 2 deputies responded and took a middle-aged female suspect into custody for allegedly shooting her son. The initial investigation revealed the woman was concerned that her son was abusing his girlfriend and only intended to threaten him with the gun but wound up shooting twice toward his truck, striking him once. The second bullet traveled across the street and went through a neighbor’s garage door. The neighbor was inside his garage/shop working at the time, but was not hit.
