BOAT FIRE COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE

A fire Sunday night could have been much worse. Shortly before 9 pm Cut and Shoot fire department was dispatched to a structure fire at High Line and Crockett Martin. The first unit to arrive advised they had a boat in a shed and multiple structures involved and requested help from Grangerland, Bennette, North Montgomery County fire departments.

Within minutes they were able to bring the fire under control.

The owner of the boat told firefighters he and his extended family had been fishing on Lake Conroe on their homemade deck boat but the winds were to high. When they returned home and parked it a small electrical fire started under the console and they extinguished it with a garden hose.

About three hours later as Frankie sat in his home with his wife and grand child enjoying what was left of Valentines Day they were startled by a large explosion. Looking outside Frankie saw the boat under its shed which adjoins their mobile home totally involved.
Frankie grabbed his grandchild and ran to another family members house across the driveway then returned to see what he could do.
Beside the boat being destroyed he lost a riding mower and a specialty golf cart to the “Blues Brother’s” theme which was used in the last Conroe parade.
The house suffered minor damage with some of the siding and skirting melting and the shed was scorched.
There were no injuries and the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
