Saturday night family and friends gathered at Peach Creek in the Peach Creek Subdivision to bbq and swim. The group moved downstream some as one of the groups stayed behind. Later that night the male who was left had not returned and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was notified. Sheriff’s Deputies and North Montgomery County Firefighters spent most of the night searching. Caney Creek Fire Department responded with a drone equipped with heat-seeking sensors. Stil nothing was found in the dense woods or the creek. Deputies returned Monday to search again and still nothing. Thursday detectives decided to search again in case the victim had been in the water and with the threat of heavy rains this weekend. They arrived and found the male deceased. Montgomery County Forensics responded to the scene as did Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts. Mett’s performed an inquest and ordered Eichkenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the male who was in his 20’s to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for an autopsy.
