SOUTH COUNTY — Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office homicide investigators are still working the scene near FM 1488 and Research Forest where someone walking behind Stonebridge Church found a dead body Monday afternoon.
Around 6:40 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office released the following statement:
On today’s date, Monday, October 28, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 1:48 PM, in reference to a welfare concern on the property of the Stone Bridge Church. The Stone Bridge Church is located at #1 Stone Bridge Church Drive, in The Woodlands, Texas.
The caller advised he believed that a body was lying near a recreational area, on the church property. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the location and located a deceased subject. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit were called to the scene. Detectives are still at the scene investigating.
The body of the deceased will be transported to the Montgomery County Forensics Center, in Conroe, for an autopsy.
As of this writing, MCSO has not released any further information regarding the remains.
MCPR is on location and will continue to monitor the situation throughout the night.
