BOMB RECOVERED IN SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Saturday evening to reports of a vehicle disturbance in the Timber Lakes subdivision in South Montgomery County and soon located the suspect vehicle.  During their investigation, Deputies detained the driver and isolated the vehicle upon observing what they believed to be explosives in the car.

Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technicians from the MCFMO Bomb Squad were dispatched to the scene and soon confirmed the Deputy’s suspicions.  Bomb Techs recovered an intact Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and several other components from the vehicle that could be used to make additional devices.  They also recovered a military grade explosives initiating device and an intact grenade fuse assembly.   All of the explosives were rendered safe and recovered by the MCFMO Bomb Squad.

MCSO and MCFMO Officers worked together on the investigation and ultimately arrested  32 yr old Jason Lee Warner, charging him with possession of a controlled substance, along with possession of explosive components and possession of an IED, a prohibited weapon under state law. Warren remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
