Bomb threat at SMC hospital

This morning, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service at St. Luke’s Hospital. Deputies learned that at approximately 7:05 a.m. the hospital received a message from a male caller advising that there was a bomb in the hospital. The originating telephone number and the caller’s voice were captured at the hospital. This information lead Patrol Deputies to a location where the threatening phone call was made.

The call originated from a hotel in the area of IH45/FM1960 area. Detectives went to the location and were able to use
the hotels video surveillance system to identify the suspect.

A short time after the Sheriff’s Office arrived on location the suspect returned to the hotel. He was questioned and brought back to Montgomery County.
When confronted with the recording from the hospital and video evidence he gave a statement of what had happened.

Roshan Shantilal Patidar, W/M, 35 years of age from Houston was arrested for False Alarm or Report (State Jail Felony).

Patidar was transported to jail without incident and is awaiting bail.
