Last night just after dark, brass thieves struck at several locations in the Woodlands area. The first location was at Woodlands Fire Station #5 where they cut a brass backflow preventer from their main water line in front of the station on Branch Crossing and leaving the firefighters with no water. Backflow preventers are used on all commercial building and some newer homes. In case of low pressure it prevents water from a hose or water lines from being sucked back into the main water lines feeding the community.
Not long after the hit at Arby’s Roast Beef on FM 2978 just south of FM 1488 while the business was still open and close to the drive thru driveway.
Next came the school on Cranebrook Drive in the Woodlands. Again leaving a water geyser behind. This just blocks from the fire station.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is still investigation.
If anyone saw anything suspicious early last evening please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
