Firefighters responded to the Sam Houston State University Hotel after someone reported a fire at 1:04 p.m. and evacuations were underway. At 1:23 p.m., Walker County Office of Emergency Management issued an “all-clear” indicating no fire or other danger was found at the hotel and civilians were allowed to return.

WALKER COUNTY, TX- Fire Reported at SHSU University Hotel in Huntsville – Evacuation is underway and authorities are asking everyone to avoid the area until the all-clear is given.
