Early reports indicate a male was fueling his SUV at the Citgo station on I-45 northbound just south of FM 1488. He was approached by another male a short time ago. That male attempted to steal the SUV. The owner of the SUV who was armed shot the suspect. The suspect is currently being transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Conroe Police are on the scene. Traffic in the area is backing up.
