Harris County District Attorney Mike Anderson, 57, has died after his short battle with stomach cancer.
Just four months after he took office with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office he announced he was starting treatments for his stomach cancer.
A n e-mail was released from Anderson to his staff which read:
To my D.A. Family,
I have been diagnosed with cancer. I have great doctors and am undergoing treatment. I fully intend to beat this.
Many people have asked how they can help me. I would ask that you keep me and my family in your prayers and continue to do the great work that you’re doing to make this the best D.A’s office in these United States.

Anderson, who unseated single term Pat Lykos promised the citizens of Harris County that he would return integrity to the District Attorney’s Office.
Pryor to him taking office he spent 12 years as a District Court Judge in Harris County with 12 years prior to that a prosecutor for Harris County.
