About 11 am Friday morning four black males walked into the Onalaska Pawn Shop in Onalaska, Polk County. The four robbed the 70-year-old owner Richard Baker, a long time resident and business owner, shot him twice in the abdomen and robbed the store. The owner was able to return fire hitting one of the suspects in the shoulder. All four fled in a vehicle west on Highway 190 across Lake Livingston and through San Jacinto County. As they entered Walker County several units began to follow the vehicle. At that point they turned off 190 onto 405 and then onto Hank Benge Road. When they ran out of road they crashed into the woods.
Walker County deputies immediately took one into custody before he exited the vehicle. The three others fled into the woods. About thirty minutes later a deputy spotted another suspect and took him into custody.
A DPS helicopter from Houston was called out and moments ago located another suspect who has now been taken into custody.
A team of dogs are now on the scene searching for the other suspect.
The shop owner who was conscious and talking to medics was flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston.
120pm-The search has moved more west of the location now, Search trams are around the Lake Jackson Estates area of 190 between FM 2296 and 405.
