CLEVELAND, TX– Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in the face with a shotgun Thursday morning, killing him instantly.
According to a witness, it was 8:50 a.m. when two men were having a disagreement in front of a Cleveland Airport hanger. The altercation reportedly escalated.
The third man was completely unharmed and ran away to call 911 as the gunman fled.
These details have not been confirmed by police yet, but MCPR is on-scene. We expect to have a statement from Cleveland Police soon and we’ll update the story.
UPDATE-The shooter is a former employee for a company based at the airport. He now lives in Eagle Lake. The 20-year-old former employee returned to Cleveland for unknown reasons this morning. An altercation took place between a current employee in his 30s and a former employee. The former employee went to his vehicle and retrieved a shotgun, shooting the victim several times. There were several witnesses to the event and Cleveland Police are interviewing them now. The suspect who fled in a silver Nissan was taken into custody a short time ago by Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle Lake Police. Cleveland detectives are en route there now to interview him.
