NEW CANEY – North St., East St., and South St. in the neighborhood behind the EMC Annex and Courthouse are completely closed to the public, as officers deal with an armed suspect who fired shots when deputies responded to a call at a residence in that area. Law enforcement agencies have established a perimeter by closing access to those streets. (Note: This is the neighborhood between the Grand Parkway and FM 1485 that surrounds Bull Sallas Park – the situation is NOT at the courthouse – that was just given as a point of reference)
