Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace says a tornado touched down in his county about an hour ago and leveled a house. Two people were transported by ambulance from the scene. There’s extensive damage throughout the area and the Sheriff says power lines are down everywhere. He also says more tornadoes are possible. There are varying reports from surrounding counties involving flooding, wind and hail. The wind is taking down trees, which can pull down power lines, creating a terrible road hazard – especially at night. Please check weather and road conditions if you must travel tonight.
The rubble below was a family’s home just a few hours ago, and now everything is gone.
Montgomery County has been spared, so far, but it seems as though many nearby counties are experiencing extreme weather and some flash flooding from intense rains, making roadways very treacherous, or impassable in many cases. So far, we know counties with issues include, but are not limited to, Trinity County, Grimes County, Liberty County, and Walker County.
