The pursuit has ended, stopping just inside Montgomery County on southbound I-45. The suspect was taken into custody. The pursuit began somewhere around Park Road 40 at the south end of the City of Huntsville, where Huntsville Police began attempting to initiate a traffic stop. DPS then entered the pursuit and they were in contact with Montgomery County law enforcement when the suspect stopped.

This is still unfolding and the suspect’s identity is not available as of this posting. We’ll post more info when have it.

For now, everyone should be thankful this didn’t end in tragedy, with so many families on the roadways due to the holiday and Black Friday shopping.

DPS is in pursuit of a white SUV with Illinois plates just entering Montgomery County on I-45 (some main lanes, sometimes switching to feeder) from Walker County and traveling at speeds over 120 mph or more-
