At noon Sunday, multiple callers reported seeing an aircraft go down in the Willis area of Montgomery County, around FM 1097. It was an hour after another aircraft went down in the Magnolia area. Multiple crews are in the Willis area attempting to locate the crash site, and a Texas Department of Public Safety crew is en route to their hanger to get the DPS helicopter and assist in the search.
At 11 a.m., first responders located a damaged aircraft on Post Oak Bend in the Magnolia area. The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing, and despite striking a tree and sheering off a wing in the process, there were no injuries reported. Â No occupant count or other information is currently available. The incident occurred approximately an hour before a second aircraft was reported down in the Willis area.
Anyone with information regarding the plane reported down in the Willis area should contact law enforcement immediately. Civilians are not requested to assist in the search at this time.
