BURGLAR FINALLY CAPTURED BY PRECINCT 1 DEPUTIES

In September the Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constables office investigated a Burglary of a building that occurred at Roark elementary in Willis. During the investigation Pct. 1 was able to obtain pictures of the suspect from the schools security video. The deputies went to the adjoining neighborhoods and met with citizens in an effort to identify the suspect. With the help of concerned citizens a possible suspect was identified. On 09/25/2017 the Willis PD along with the Pct. 1 deputies attempted to locate this suspect as a person of interest in numerous vehicles and building burglaries in the Willis area. Pct. 1 deputies observed the suspect in an attempt to talk with him. The suspect ran from the deputies and after an extended foot chase was detained and later arrested for evading detention/ arrest. During the subsequent interview by a Pct. 1 detective the suspect admitted to breaking into the school and committing numerous vehicle burglaries in Willis. The suspect was placed into the Montgomery County Jail with charges pending on the School burglary. This was a great example of law enforcement agencies and the citizens working together to keep the community safe.
