Just after 5am two males were seen entering the Zales Jewelers on I45 in the Portifino Shopping Center. As Shenandoah Police were enroute they were advised there was an alarm going off also. They arrived within minutes to find a front window crashed and a door inside broken into. The owners are on the scene now attempting to find out what if anything is missing. Glass cases are are cleared at night and no jewelry is left in them. However they did locate one case in which they broke into stealing almost eighty champagne, black and blue diamonds. Early estimates put the value at close to $30,000. Shenandoah Police are continuing the investigation.
Just the other side of the shopping center sits AT&T. Shortly before the Zales break-in AT&T was broken into through a side wall. Over $7,000 in phones, ipads and iPhones were stolen there. It has been determined that they were the same burglars.
