On February 1, 2025 Grimes County Sheriff’s Office received a business alarm at Haynies General Store in Richards. Deputies arrived to discover a burglary had taken place and a large number of vape products were stolen.
On February 10, 2025, the Standley Food Store in Iola was broken into around 5:27 am. Four subjects, possibly black males, stole approximately $4000 in merchandise, including header/heeler ropes and case knives. The suspect’s vehicle appears to be an SUV, unknown color and was observed traveling northbound on FM 39. Both burglaries appear to have had the same persons involved.
