Several hours ago an earthquake of 8.9 magnitude shook Japan. In turn a Tsunami was produced and is currently moving toward Hawaii and the West Coast. Warnings are now posted for Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Central and South America and the rest of the Pacific Ocean.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WARNING JUST ISSUED

The National Weather Service issued tsunami warnings for parts of the West Coast of the U.S. Friday Morning. A warning is in effect for the coastal areas of California and Oregon from Point Concepcion, California, to the Oregon-Washington border. A further warning is in effect for the coastal areas of Alaska from Amchitka Pass to Attu. Tsunami advisories are also in effect for the rest of the California coast, as well as coastal areas of Washington, British Columbia and Alaska. A tsunami warning means that all coastal residents in the warning area who are near the beach or in low-lying regions should move immediately inland to higher ground
