Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel was diagnosed almost 7 years ago with a rare form of spinal and brain cancer. DJ was only given five months to live. His dream was to be a police officer. DJ’s father, Theodis Daniel, explained his son’s admiration for law enforcement began after experiencing acts of kindness from police officers during Hurricane Harvey. DJ’s family lost everything during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. THey were forced to shelter at the George R Brown Convention Center for an extended period of time. Chief’s and the Law Enforcement agencies across the nation saw this and began to invite DJ to their city where they swore him in as an Honorary Officer of their department. DJ’s goal was 100 Departments, last night was his 909th Honary induction. It was back on January 31, 2022 when DJ attended a swearing in ceremony at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. There he was sworn in by Conroe ISD PD, Panorama Village PD, Conroe PD, Patton Village PD, Cut-and-Shoot PD, Precinct 1 Constable Office, Lone Star Community College PD, Precinct 2 Constables Office, Magnolia PD, Precinct 3 Constables Office, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Precinct 4 Constables Office, Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, Precinct 5 Constables Office, Montgomery PD, Roman Forest PD, Oak Ridge North PD, and Shenandoah PD.. Now, after all the years he has defied doctors. Even though he has gone through multiple surgeries, and many experimental treatments, he has continued his quest. On Tuesday night he was given credentials in Washington D.C. when President Trump announced he is now an Honorary United States Secret Service Agent. DJ and his father were seated directly behind First Lady Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel. Keep DJ in your prayers as three new tumors have been discovered. But DJ will keep fighting.
