Sunday morning over 100 people attended the Palm Sunday Drive-Thru Service at the Caney Creek Cowboy Church in Grangerland. Prior to the service, the pastures were marked off with “x” to space the vehicles. Parishioners were told not to mingle but stay in their vehicles. Many sat in the cars, some in the beds of pickups. One parishioner, when asked about the social distancing, said, “this is true social distancing, open-air, in the vehicle with family or significant other and praising the Lord. You have closer contact than this going to the grocery store or food take out establishment.” Masks were made available to parishioners as they entered through the gates. Pastor Mark Grimes, who has had the church for 13-years now said it was like in the beginning when we didn’t have buildings and met in the pasture shared with the horses and cows. They plan to do an Easter Sunday Service in the same fashion.
