CCHS grad killed by train, circumstances unknown

A Caney Creek High School graduate died under what police are calling “questionable circumstances” last week in College Station where he was attending Texas A&M University.

Patrick Noel Jernigan II, 22, was found dead under a train around 2 a.m. on Friday.

Jernigan worked Thursday night and had planned to go and visit a friend when he got off, but he never showed up.

The young father was supposed to go home to Cleveland the following day where he planned to visit his family and 3-year-old daughter, according to statements made by friends and family.

Jernigan graduated from Caney Creek in 2005, in the top 3 percent of his class and had a full scholarship to A&M where he majored in Industrial Distribution. He was scheduled to graduate in December.

The College Station Police Department and Texas A&M University Police Department are investigating his death.
