CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER THIS AFTERNOON

Bottom Line

Another upper level disturbance will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms to the northern half of Southeast Texas late this afternoon into this evening.

Elevated Fire Weather conditions expected by Monday afternoon over mainly the northwest half of the region, mainly north of a Columbus to Hempstead to Madisonville line.

Overview

An upper level disturbance will trigger more showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon into this evening. The best chance for severe storms will be northeast of a Madisonville to Huntsville to Livingston line. The development of strong storms is strongly dependent on whether or not a capping inversion will break. At this time, feel the cap will hold but confidence is low.

Primary Hazard:  Large hail

Timing: 5 PM to 11 PM

Location: Mainly northeast of a Madisonville to Huntsville to Livingston line.

Confidence : Low.
