MONTGOMERY COUNTY On Monday, October 29, 2007 Charles Edward Meeks, 57, of Spring died in a fatal accident on Hardin Store Road. Brandon Guillot, 22 of Spring was listed as the driver of the vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, according to Trooper Winston Pham who responded to the call and performed the on-scene investigation.
The SUV was eastbound on Hardin Store sometime before 3 a.m. when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The Magnolia Fire Department worked to free Meeks from the wreckage. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Guillot was flown to Herman Hospital by Life Flight air ambulance, in critical condition with internal injuries.
According to Pham, an open beer can and an open bottle of whiskey were found inside the wrecked vehicle.
In April, Guillot was reindicted for the charge of intoxication manslaughter, yet the charge has now been dropped.
