Charged with tying up and beating his own mother

On February 9, Deputy Calhoun was dispatched to the District III office, in reference to an assault call in the 25800 block of Gloucester. Upon arrival, he met with a female who advised her 23-year-old son Rudy Steve Flores had tied up her hands and feet to a chair at home and then assaulted her several times. The female advised Flores went to use the bathroom and that is when she loosened her bonds and escaped through a side door of her home. The female then came to the office and made a report. Flores was later located walking away from the home on the roadway and was detained. The male was placed in jail for assault and unlawful restraint. The charge was enhanced because he had two or more of the same charge within a 12 month period.

On February 8, Deputy Jordan was dispatched to the 23700 block of Debra Lane in Porter, in reference to a disturbance. Upon 23-year-old Yohnathan Menbreno Cruz was found to be arguing with a family member. Cruz was found to be the instigator of the disturbance and was detained during the investigation. When the male was detained, it was discovered that the male had narcotics inside his pants pocket. A search revealed a small plastic baggie of methamphetamine in his pocket. Cruz was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to jail.

 

Elsewhere in District 3 – Lt. Joe Senn (East County)

On February 9, Deputy Cantu Jr was dispatched to the Player’s Bar, in reference to a disturbance in the parking lot. Upon arrival, a 25 year old male was found in the parking lot attempting to fight with anyone around. The male was detained and discovered to be highly intoxicated. The male was arrested for public intoxication and taken to jail.

On February 12, Deputy Jordan was dispatched to the 14500 block of US Highway 59, in reference a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, a 33 year old female was located and was found to be highly intoxicated. The female was detained and it was found she had five outstanding warrants for her arrest. The female was arrested on the warrants and also charged with public intoxication.

On February 13, Deputy Gallagher was dispatched to a welfare check of a man sleeping inside a car in the 16100 block of Portman Road. Upon arrival, the Deputy awoke the 30 year old male and observed he had a rifle inside the car with him. A check of the male showed he was a convicted felon. The male was then arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and transported to jail.

On February 13, Deputy Cantu Jr was patrolling the 25200 block of FM 1485 when he noticed a car in front of him swerving across the lanes. Deputy Cantu Jr stopped that vehicle and discovered the 25 year old male to be intoxicated. After an investigation, the 25 year old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated with two child passengers under 15 years of age.

On February 13, Deputy Hall stopped a vehicle in the 24400 block of Cochran Drive, for a moving violation and an equipment violation. Upon making contact with the 32 year old male driver, Deputy Hall noticed the male displayed indicators of intoxication and asked the male to step out of the vehicle for further investigation. The male refused. Deputy Hall then ordered the male to exit the car and again the male refused. Deputy Hall then opened the door to remove the male from the driver’s seat and the male attempted to start the car and drive off. Deputy Hall was able to stop the male, remove him from the vehicle, and detain him before the male could drive away. The male was then placed in custody for driving while intoxicated (2nd) and transported to jail. Once at the jail, a warrant for a blood specimen was obtained and a blood draw was performed. The male was then released to jail staff.

On February 14, Deputy Cooke was dispatched to the Players Bar for an assault call. Upon arrival, it was learned two females had met three men at Players and decided to all go to another bar in Humble, which they all left together. Upon going to Humble, one of the males advised he left his money at Players and needed to return. Upon their return, it was reported one male pulled out a gun and “pistol whipped” one of the females and a second male began assaulting the second female. After assaulting the females, the three males stole money and credit cards from the complainants’ wallets and fled the scene. A witness came forward and followed the males to an address on Cherokee Trace in Porter. Two males were found at that residence, but the third had already fled the area. The two males were positively identified by the complainants and were arrested for aggravated robbery.

On February 14, Deputy Hall was patrolling US Highway 59 when he noticed a vehicle swerving across its lane. A stop was made on that vehicle and the driver was found to be a 37 year old male. The male was speaking to Deputy Hall when he noticed the strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the male’s breath. After an investigation, the male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to jail.

On February 14, Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 16100 block of Western Echo. Upon arrival to the area, a 31 year old female was found walking away from the residence. The female advised she called for law enforcement assistance and had to leave the disturbance before things got out of hand. Another officer went to the location of the disturbance and it was found the 31 year old female was the one causing the disturbance. The female was intoxicated and was reportedly the reason for the disturbance. The female was arrested for public intoxication and transported to jail.

On February 14, Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched to a welfare check of a 37 year old male who was acting strange in the 23600 block of Debra. Upon arrival, it was apparent to Deputy Durrenberger that the male was under the influence of a narcotic and was acting strange. The male was detained for safety reasons. A small baggie of methamphetamine was found on him, the male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and transported to jail.

Three others were arrested for outstanding warrants.
