HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Thursday, Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Hennan’s Office responded to a theft report in the 20100 block of E. Hardy Rd.
They determined Lamarcus Carter stole approximately $20,000 worth of copper from the business, which makes the theft a felony. A check of a few area scrap metal businesses shows the current payout for scrap copper is between $3 and $4 per pound, depending upon the type. In the end, Pct. 4 Deputies didn’t have to “cuff and stuff” Carter.
“Lamarcus Carter was found to currently be in the Harris County Jail with a $25,000 bond for Assault with Previous Convictions therefore an additional charge for Theft was filed. He is awaiting bond out of the 351st District Court for the new charge,” Constable Mark Herman said.
