Chief Rex Evans Heading For Murdered Trooper’s Funeral (route included)

MESSAGE FROM EVANS:

It’s never a ride any Officer wants to make. Yet, it’s a ride which, if possible, every Officer should make.

To attend a Fallen Officers Memorial Service is not just to show our respect and love for our Fallen Brother or Sister. It is also a show of gratitude, honor and respect to their family. The parents, spouses and children they’ve left behind.

It is, in part, a way to extend beyond the constraints of words that they are not alone in such a dark and lonely hour.

This sign, which you see pictured here, was completed at the request of members of the Allen Family.

A local company here in Cleveland, Good Promotions, took on the job and finished it in less than twelve hours. They wouldn’t accept a penny from us, when completed. Sending only their prayers, thoughts and love to the entire Allen Family.

Well, I know not everyone can make it this evening or tomorrow to Trooper Allen’s Memorial Service. I understand the streets must remain manned. It is what we do, after all.

So, with that in mind, I’m about to exit IH-59 @ the Grand Parkway. Chili’s parking lot. If you want to stop and sign. I’ll be there a few minutes.

Then I’ll be traveling the Grand Parkway to IH-45N to Highway 7 exiting there making the turn for Mexia.

I’ll update as I go. If your a Law Enforcement Officer, and you can’t attend this evening or tomorrow, yet you’d like to in some way “be there” and, you can meet along this route, your welcome to sign this Memorial Banner. Please let me know. I’ll stop as often as it takes….

Rex
