The 12-year-old child who was involved in the crash on SH 242 Friday night in front of the HEB has passed away. Please keep the family in your prayers.
At about 10:20 pm Friday, a mother was traveling east on SH 242 just passing the HEB Store. She had just left McDonald’s with he 8-year-old, 12-year-old, and 13-year-old children.. Without any warning, what is believed to be an impaired driver struck the rear of their Chevrolet Tahoe, spinning it out of control and crushing the rear. The 12-year-old who was sitting in the backseat suffered massive head trauma. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, which then Life Flighted him to the Texas Medical Center. The mother of the children and the two other children were transported in serious condition to the hospital. The driver of the Tacoma was believed to have been impaired, he was also transported to the hospital. Needham Fire responded to the scene along with multiple ambulances. DPS investigated the crash as MCSO assisted with traffic control. SH 242 eastbound was closed for several hours. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit also responded to the scene to assist.
