The deceased victim of the pit bull attack is 16-month-old Jace Paul Valdez. He would have celebrated his second birthday on August 30. According to investigators, Valdez and his mother had been living with her parents for the past four to five months.
On the night of the child’s death, his mother was visiting friends in Spring and his father was in Louisiana on business. Valdez’s grandmother was the only other person home when the child was killed by the family’s pit bull, a 7 to 8-year-old pit bull.
There is no call history with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at this residence.
MCSO officials said they were unable to release any additional information because the investigation is ongoing and “will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for review of any criminal wrongdoing.”
