GRIMES COUNTY, TX- An 8-year-old child died after an ATV crash Sunday, despite everyone’s best efforts to save him. Grimes County EMS responded to the scene and requested Montgomery County for assistance. Medics worked on the child but were unable to save him. The accident occurred around 12 pm on Deep Forest Trail near FM 1774 south of Anderson. Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says it happened during a family gathering and that the victims are from the Cypress area. One child was reported pinned beneath the 4×4 and a young boy is being treated at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. DPS is investigating.
