UPDATE! Lucy is FOUND! Norman is still missing! Please keep looking! He’s even more alone now and she’s probably feeling lost even though she’s somewhere warm tonight.
Original story-
Lucy & Norman didn’t understand and now they’re searching for someone who’s gone forever…
As dog-lovers, these kinds of situations hurt our hearts. On December 2 (Tuesday), law enforcement went to do a welfare check at a home on Firefly Lane in Porter, and found the lady dead. Unfortunately, her two precious dogs ran from the yard when police opened the gate to check on the lady – probably because they were hungry and confused about not seeing her. They ran, and apparently, they kept going. The dead lady’s family loved her and they love the dogs and want to find them.
An MCPR reader named Tammy – who’s been in our area and our orbit forever – reached out is fairly sure she spotted them in the Grangerland area on Thursday, but hadn’t seen a post about it yet. She wasn’t able to find them after she saw it. Trust me when I tell you, if they were still near Tammy when she saw the post, they’d be safely awaiting or with family by now.
The dead lady’s family lives thousands of miles away in New York. They need the help of local folks to watch for these pups and, hopefully, get them. The reader who contacted us said she’s willing to personally go wherever they turn up, take them to the shelter, so the family of the deceased can make arrangements to retrieve them. Since they were hungry and confused, and the human they loved was suddenly gone, there’s no telling where they may end up. Dogs will travel a long way searching for their human or for food, and these were looking for both.
The last two lines of the message Tammy sent: “The lady that passed away loved these 2 dogs. Let’s help them not be the victims of the tragic death of their beloved owner.”
Anyone who has information regarding the location of the dogs, or who’s caring for the dogs as they wait to find the owner, please call Tammy at 713-705-2158
This pup is the one still missing as of Friday night:
