Citizen Tips Lead to Arrest in Pueblo Viejo Burglary

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX – Cleveland Police arrested a burglary suspect on Tuesday, June 3, thanks to help from the public, local businesses, and law enforcement partners.

Officers responded to Pueblo Viejo Restaurant at 146 Truly Plaza on Friday, May 30, after a reported business burglary. Investigators determined that an unknown male had broken into the restaurant during the early morning hours and stolen items from the premises.

Cleveland Police processed the scene for evidence and released surveillance images of the suspect on social media. Shortly after, community members contacted the department with tips that led detectives to identify the suspect as James Anthony Foley, 60, of Liberty County.

Police obtained arrest warrants for Foley on charges of Burglary of a Building and Theft, both State Jail Felonies. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, alerted to Foley’s location within their jurisdiction, apprehended him and transported him to the Cleveland Police Department, where he was booked without incident.

“This case was solved with the help of our citizens, local businesses, and our law enforcement partners,” the Cleveland Police Department said in a statement. “We appreciate the partnerships we’ve built over the years—they make fighting crime much more effective.”
