EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY – On Wednesday, the New Caney Shrine Club installed President Jim Clark along with the new 2014 officers. They are, Vice-President Stephen Carlisle; Treasure Sec. James Weaver; Chaplin Bobby Hitt; Marshall Ski Lewandowski; and Quartermaster John Bucklin.

The New Caney Shrine Club is one of the 18 Shrine Clubs of Houston’s Shriners, the Arabia Shrine. The Shrine Club’s primary purpose is to raise money for the Shriners Children’s Hospitals. As Shriners, they raise money and have fun doing it.
Shriner Hospitals for Children treats children without charge no matter their economic situation. Locally they have the Shriners Orthopedic Hospital in Houston and the Shriners Burn Center in Galveston.
Vice-President Stephen Carlisle says, “The New Caney Shrine Club was founded in 2008 by many up standing members of our community,” mostly belonging to the local Masonic Lodge, Sam B. Crawford Lodge 1418.
Carlisle is also the current Master of the Sam B. Crawford Lodge.
Shriners will be at the IHOP in Porter on March 4, all day, talking to the public.
This year’s Shrine Circus will be April 23 to 27. Tickets are available through any Shriner.
New Caney Shrine Club usually meets at the Hofbrau Steakhouse in Porter on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
