On June 12, 2013, City of Cleveland’s Animal Control Officer Billy Ross in conjunction with Dr. L. D. Shaw, and Dr. J. Tucker Shaw of Mobile Veterinary Clinic held a Rabies Vaccinations, and minor wellness check of small animals at Stancil Exposition Park.
Mr. Ross wanted to thank all of the animal owners who came out and got their animals vaccinated. “This event also allowed us the opportunity to educate pet owners about city ordinances pertaining to animals kept inside the city”, according to
ACO Ross.
Animal Control was able to share with those participating citizens information on “Micro Pet Chips” that helps track, and locate lost animals. A recent donation by a wonderful citizen (who did not care to be named) allows Cleveland Animal Control to scan found animals. ACO Ross stated, “If a found animal is located, and it has been implanted with a micro- chip, chances of reuniting it with his owner is greater”.
The Animal Control Division hopes to hold another similar event in the future, and will keep citizens posted.
