Cleveland Man Arrested After Allegedly Striking Spouse with Beer Can

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX- A Cleveland man was arrested Monday after allegedly striking his wife in the face with a beer can during a domestic dispute, according to the Cleveland Police Department.

On October 6, 2025, Officer B. Johnson responded to a residence on Woodhill Spa Lane in reference to a reported physical disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer met with a woman who was bleeding from her jaw.

The victim told police that her husband, Cameron Lyn Russell, 33, became angry during a heated argument and threw an unopened can of Michelob Ultra beer at her. The can struck her in the face, causing a laceration.

When officers arrived, Russell reportedly attempted to lock himself inside a bedroom. Officers were able to forcibly enter, detain him, and take him into custody without further incident.

Russell was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A misdemeanor. He was transported to the Cleveland Police Department Jail for booking and later transferred to the Liberty County Jail, where his bond was set at $5,000.
