CLEVELAND SCHOOLS RELEASED FROM LOCKDOWN

About 2 pm Liberty County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on US 59. The vehicle fled northbound and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle exited and went into the City of Cleveland. As they got close to the schools, Cleveland Police Chief Rex Evans ordered all the schools on lockdown.

The pursuit continued to the football field at the high school where the vehicle crashed. Two suspects then fled onto the field on foot where they were captured. Both were armed.

Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
