NEW CANEY, Texas – The Grand Parkway Infrastructure team continues to build two new bridges over IH-69 in
New Caney, TX as part of Segment H of the Grand Parkway. During the overnight hours (8 PM-5 AM) of
Tuesday, June 9, IH-69 southbound main lanes and frontage road (between SH-99 eastbound and westbound
frontage roads) will be closed for bridgework. Detours will be in place for motorists traveling in the area.
Please note that this activity is weather permitting and our team will continue to keep an eye on the forecast.
This work is part of the next stages of construction on the 184-mile Grand Parkway highway project. Work is
currently underway on Segments H, I-1 & I-2, representing a 52.8-mile corridor spanning Chambers, Harris,
Liberty and Montgomery counties, northeast of Houston, Texas. Construction of new lanes and the
modernization of the existing tolling infrastructure will increase capacity and improve mobility. These
segments of the Grand Parkway loop are expected to open Spring 2022. For more information on the SH 99
